Telynor's Library, and then some

A woman of a certain age who has three cats underfoot, and has the dream of filling her passport with stamps. Books, classical music, tea, cats, movies, art, fancy needlework,  and anything else I can think of.

Cinnamon and Gunpowder: A Novel - Eli Brown A very entertaining adventure tale set in the early 19th century involving a cook, Wedgewood, and the ship that he's shanghaied aboard, the Flying Rose. The captain of the ship, Mad Hannah Mabbot has an offer for him -- cook one meal for her every Sunday, and she won't kill him. Wedgewood takes it, but he doesn't really have any choice either, and he gradually discovers that he perception of everything is quite wrong as he gets mixed up in the quest to track down the Brass Fox and the destruction of the Pendleton Company. It's a rolicking good adventure, filled with all the things you come to expect from pirates, but also some serious issues. I give it four solid stars, and a recommend.
