A very clearly written, very engaging account of the assassination of James Garfield, and going into the backgrounds of both Garfield and his killer. Along the way we get to learn about political corruption and other shenanigans, mental illness, and the hazards of medical treatment in the late nineteenth century. I found it very readable, and I am determined to find out more about this period of history. Four stars overall and recommended.
