I was very surprised by this novel about Henry VIII and his wives, told through the eyes of Thomas Cromwell. It's detailed, surprising and blows a lot of stereotypes right out of the water. One character that really took me by surprise was Mary Boleyn, who is anything but a fool in this one, but most of all Thomas Cromwell, who is very different from the person that I thought I knew. Muchly recommended, and five stars overall.
