The first book in the Discworld series. Yes, I finally backed up, and decided to read it all from the start. Rincewind a very failed wizard takes on the burden of escorting the tourist Twoflower and his Luggage through the Discworld -- a suggestion of Lord Vetinari's, and it's wise not to say no to the benevolent despot of Ankh-Morpork. Very funny, and a terrific send-up of the works of several classic authors in science fiction and fantasy -- half the fun is figuring out who they are. Great introduction to the series. And I want a Luggage of my very own...
