A woman of a certain age who has three cats underfoot, and has the dream of filling her passport with stamps. Books, classical music, tea, cats, movies, art, fancy needlework, and anything else I can think of.
This was one very disturbing book to read, full of stories and situations that will make you think and possibly rethink your preparations for what to do when a disaster hits. This tells the story of the patients and staff at Memorial hospital in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, and the consequences of the decisions that were made. It's not an easy book to read, and shouldn't be -- the moral questions that are raised are ones that we tend to push away. Ms. Fink's writing is clear and immediate in style, with excellent research. However, if you are a sensitive person, you might want to skip this one as some of the scenes are very disturbing to read. Five stars overall and recommended.
